WHEEL OF FORTUNE

While several hotels in Tulum charge upwards of $1,000 USD per night, those same establishments often pay their employees as little as $5 per day. As these wealth gaps grow, the class divide becomes more obvious and more problematic. Crimes, such as theft and kidnappings, are steadily increasing. And just as the Wheel of Fortune represents change, as crimes rise, tourism will fall – and so will the wealth that has built it.
